Dwg. No. 003 — Contractor marketing For contractors, builders & trades

You don't need more leads. You need better ones, faster.

Most contractors we meet are busy and still not making money — because the jobs are too small, the customers price-shop, and half the good calls go to whoever picked up first. Marketing that ignores all three just gets you more of the same.

Trades are half of what we do. You won't have to explain your business to us.

Sound familiar?
  • Your best source of work is still word of mouth, and it went quiet this quarter.
  • You're losing quotes to guys charging half, and nobody's explaining why you cost more.
  • You miss calls all day because you're on a roof, and those people call the next number.
  • You've got 400 past customers in your phone and no way to reach them.
  • Someone built you a website in 2019 and you have no idea if it does anything.
  • You have 11 Google reviews and the competitor down the road has 180.
The order matters

We fix the leaks before we turn the tap up.

Spending on ads while you're missing calls and sitting at 11 reviews is pouring money into a bucket with a hole in it. So we work in this order — and the first two steps are the cheapest things we sell.

01

Stop losing the calls you already get

Missed-call text-back so anyone who rings and gets voicemail immediately receives "Sorry we missed you — what's the job and the address? We'll call within the hour." Plus an automatic reply to every web form inside five minutes. This is the single highest-return thing a contractor can do, and it costs less than a tank of diesel a month.

Sold on its own as Lead Rescue: $297 setup, $129/month. Month to month, first month refundable. It's the cheapest way to start with us and we'd rather sell you this than a website.

02

Get your Google profile and reviews working

For local trades, the Google Business Profile does more than the website. We fill it out properly — services, service area, real job photos, questions answered — and put a review system in place so asking happens automatically at the right moment instead of never.

03

Give them somewhere worth landing

A site that loads instantly on a phone, shows real before-and-afters from your jobs, says which areas you cover and what you actually charge for, and makes it obvious how to reach you from every screen.

Websites →
04

Then buy demand — and filter it

Google Ads for people searching right now, Meta for the neighbourhood that just watched you re-side a house on their street. Targeted by postal code, filtered by job type and budget so you stop quoting $2,000 jobs you don't want.

The thing nobody else will do for you

We can explain why you cost more — because we know why.

The reason you lose jobs to the cheap quote isn't price. It's that nobody ever explained the difference. The homeowner is comparing two numbers on two pieces of paper and has no way to tell that yours includes proper permits, a real vapour barrier and a crew that shows up.

A generalist agency can't write that page, because it takes enough knowledge of your trade to be specific about what's in a quote and what isn't. We only work with two industries, so we sit in these conversations every week. It's the highest-converting content a contractor can have, and almost nobody has it.

  • "Why our quote is higher" — the page that turns a price objection into a trust signal.
  • Cost guides for your actual services — real GTA ranges, honestly explained. These rank, they get quoted by AI assistants, and they pre-qualify people before they call.
  • Before-and-afters with the story — not just photos. What was wrong, what we found once it was open, what it cost, how long it took.
  • Straight talk about what you won't do — the fastest way to be believed about everything else.

Homeowners aren't looking for the cheapest contractor. They're looking for the one they won't regret.

An honest limit

Marketing can't fix a scheduling problem, an unanswered phone or a crew that leaves a mess. If the business behind the marketing isn't ready, we'll tell you on the first call rather than take your money for six months.

Also available

Things that work specifically for trades.

Free for the first 10 contractors

The Project Spotlight below is normally $350–$500. Right now it's free for the first 10 contractors who'll let us publish it, in exchange for real project photos and a testimonial. See the founding program →

Project Spotlight

A dedicated before-and-after page for one completed job: what it was, what you found, what it cost, how long it took, and a targeted social ad set built from the photos.

$350–$500 per project · free for founding clients

Google Guaranteed & Local Services Ads

Pay-per-lead placement that sits above the regular search ads, with a Google-backed badge next to your name. It needs licence and insurance verification, which is exactly the paperwork most contractors never get around to. We handle it.

$750 setup

Database reactivation

Every contractor has hundreds of past customers in a phone and a shoebox. A compliant text and email campaign to that list often books work in the first week — it's the cheapest job you'll ever buy.

From $500 · often run as a paid trial

Job-site video days

We come to an active site, film you explaining what you're doing and why, and cut it into ten to fifteen clips. Nothing sells a trade like watching them work and talk at the same time.

$1,200–$2,000 per shoot day

Print that still works

Door hangers for the streets you're already working on, postcards, lawn signs, truck lettering. When your crew is on a street for three weeks, everyone on it is a warm prospect.

From $600 plus print

Quote & job-management setup

Jobber, Housecall Pro or similar — configured so leads land in one place, follow-up happens automatically and you stop losing quotes in your text messages.

Quoted per build

Agent introductions

We work with real estate agents too. Agents need trades they can hand to clients without worrying. Being on that list is worth more than most ad budgets.

Included with monthly plans

Questions we get

Straight answers.

How long before I see anything?

Speed-to-lead and review work show up within weeks — you'll notice the difference in booked quotes almost immediately because it's fixing something that's already broken. Ads produce calls within days of going live, but take about 60 days of data before we've tuned them properly. Search and AI visibility is a 4–9 month build. Anyone promising you page one in 30 days is either lying or spending your money on ads and calling it SEO.

What should I budget for ads?

For most GTA trades, $1,000–$2,500 a month in ad spend is enough to learn something real. Below about $750 the data is too thin to optimize and you're mostly donating to Google. Remember the spend is separate from our fee and it goes on your own card, on your own ad account — we never touch it or mark it up.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

Monthly plans have a three-month initial term, then month to month. Three months because nothing we do works in thirty days and we won't pretend otherwise. After that you can leave with 30 days' notice, and you keep everything — the site, the domain, the ad accounts, the data. All of it is registered in your name from day one.

I already have a website. Do I need a new one?

Maybe not. If it loads fast, works on a phone and has a way to contact you on every screen, we'd rather spend your money on demand than on a redesign. The free audit will tell you honestly which one you're in.

Can you guarantee me a number of jobs?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. Too much depends on your pricing, your close rate and how fast you call people back. What we do guarantee is the work itself: the deliverables, the timelines, the response times and a monthly report that shows you exactly what was spent and what came in. If you want the risk shared, ask about running a database reactivation as a paid trial first.

Do you work with trades outside Halton?

Yes. We're based in Oakville and know Halton, Hamilton and the west GTA best, but the work travels. Video shoot days are easier if you're within about an hour of us.

No pitch, no obligation

See exactly what your competition is doing that you aren't.

We record a 15-minute screen share: what shows up when someone Googles you, what your Google profile is missing, what the guy down the road is doing better, and the first three things we'd fix. You keep the video whether you hire us or not.
