Dwg. No. 010 — Service 05

The cheapest jobs you'll ever win are the ones you're already losing.

Before you spend another dollar on advertising: you're missing calls, replying to forms four hours late, and sitting on a review count that makes people choose someone else. Fixing those three costs less than a month of ads and works immediately.

Start here, not with ads

This is the one page on our site where we're arguing you should spend less with us, not more. Turning up the ad budget while these are broken is pouring money into a bucket with a hole in it.

Speed-to-lead $150–$300/mo · Reviews $250–$400/mo

Fix 01

Speed-to-lead: whoever answers first usually wins.

A homeowner with a leak calls three numbers. They hire whoever calls back first, not whoever is best. You are on a roof, in a crawlspace or at a showing — so you lose calls you already paid to generate.

Missed-call text-back

Anyone who rings and gets voicemail immediately receives a text: "Sorry we missed you — what's the job and the address? We'll call you within the hour." Most people reply. The lead stops being lost and starts being a conversation you can pick up when you're off the ladder.

Five-minute form reply

Every web enquiry gets an instant, personal-sounding response confirming you got it and asking the two questions you always ask anyway. The gap between a form submission and a human reply is where most leads quietly die.

Follow-up that doesn't need you

The people who don't answer the first time aren't gone — they're busy. A short automatic sequence over the following week recovers a meaningful share of them, and you never have to remember to do it.

Why we sell this first

It's cheap, it works in days rather than months, and it makes everything else you spend on work harder. If we can only do one thing for you, we'd rather it be this than a website. It's packaged on its own as Lead Rescue — $297 setup, $129/month, month to month with the first month refundable.

Fix 02

Reviews: eleven versus a hundred and eighty.

Google reviews are simultaneously your strongest local ranking factor and the last thing a customer checks before calling. Almost every contractor we meet does great work and asks for a review roughly never.

What we put in place

  • Automatic ask at the right moment — a text with a one-tap link, sent when the job is finished and the customer is happiest, not three weeks later.
  • A QR code on the invoice and on your paperwork, so the ask exists even when the automation doesn't fire.
  • A response protocol — every review answered, including the bad ones. How you handle a complaint publicly converts better than a wall of five stars.
  • Reviews on your website, pulled properly and marked up so search engines and AI assistants can read them.
  • A monthly count so you can actually see it moving.

What we will not do

We won't offer discounts or incentives for reviews, we won't screen customers to send only the happy ones to Google, and we won't write or buy reviews. All three break Google's policies and Canadian rules on misleading representations — and businesses do get caught, usually by a competitor who reports them.

Done properly this is slower than the shortcuts, and it's the only version that survives. A steady climb in real reviews outperforms a spike of fake ones anyway, because recency is part of what Google weighs.

Fix 03

A CRM that's actually set up.

Most of our clients already pay for one. Very few have it configured well enough to be worth the money.

Everything lands in one place

Web forms, ad leads, phone calls and the enquiry that came through Instagram all arrive in the same list, tagged with where they came from. That last part is how you find out which marketing actually works.

Nothing sits untouched

Automatic reminders on quotes that haven't been followed up, jobs waiting on a decision, and past clients you haven't spoken to in a year.

Your database earns again

Compliant email and SMS campaigns to people who already hired you and liked it. For contractors it's maintenance and next-phase work. For agents it's the eleventh-year homeowner thinking about moving.

We build in whatever you already use — Follow Up Boss and BoldTrail for agents, Jobber and Housecall Pro for trades — or recommend one if you're starting fresh. Setup is quoted per build; ongoing management is part of a monthly plan.

CASL — the rule most people break by accident

Canada's anti-spam law is stricter than the American equivalent and carries real penalties. Every campaign we run needs documented consent, clear identification of who's sending it, and a working unsubscribe. Before we email or text a list you've handed us, we'll ask where it came from and how consent was obtained — and if the honest answer is "I collected these business cards over eight years," we'll build a re-permission campaign instead of blasting it. This protects you, not us.

Questions

About automation.

Won't automated texts feel impersonal?

A short, plainly-worded text that says you missed the call and will ring back within the hour feels a great deal more personal than silence. We write these to sound like you, keep them brief, and never pretend a robot is a person. The moment someone replies, it's you.

What software does this need?

It depends on what you already have. Sometimes it's a small add-on to your existing phone system, sometimes it's a CRM you're already paying for and not using. We'll pick the cheapest thing that does the job and tell you the licence cost separately from our fee — we don't hide software margin in a retainer.

How long does setup take?

Missed-call text-back and instant form replies are usually live within a week. A full CRM build with sequences takes two to four weeks depending on how much cleaning your existing data needs.

Can I try the reactivation campaign before committing?

Yes — that's how we usually recommend starting. We run one campaign to your past customers for a flat fee. If it doesn't produce work, you don't continue. It's the fastest, cheapest way for both of us to find out whether we work well together.

No pitch, no obligation

See exactly what your competition is doing that you aren't.

We record a 15-minute screen share: what shows up when someone Googles you, what your Google profile is missing, what the guy down the road is doing better, and the first three things we'd fix. You keep the video whether you hire us or not.
